Often running away from her unloved husband to the park laid out by the Konetspolsky family, Maria complained about the fate of flowers and birdsong. And the old count was jealous of the young beauty to the guests and even the servants, begging for her love. One day the countess did not return from a walk – rumors spread that the old man either killed his wife or walled her up alive, and her moaning could be heard for a long time…
